Employment-Based Green Card Process
Your roadmap to permanent residency in the United States
Absolute IT supports employees through the entire employment-based Green Card process. Our in-house immigration team and legal partners guide you through each stage — from PERM labor certification to I-485 adjustment of status.
Step 1: PERM Labor Certification
The employer (Absolute IT) must demonstrate that there are no qualified U.S. workers available for the position. This involves conducting a recruitment process as specified by the Department of Labor, followed by filing the PERM application (ETA Form 9089).
Step 2: I-140 Immigrant Petition
Once the PERM is certified, Absolute IT files Form I-140 (Immigrant Petition for Alien Workers) with USCIS. This establishes your priority date and confirms your eligibility for the requested employment-based category (EB-2 or EB-3).
Step 3: I-485 Adjustment of Status
When your priority date becomes current, you can file Form I-485 to adjust your status to that of a lawful permanent resident. During this stage, you may also apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advance Parole for travel.
Green Card Categories
- EB-1: Priority Workers (extraordinary ability, outstanding professors/researchers, multinational managers)
- EB-2: Advanced Degree Professionals or Exceptional Ability
- EB-3: Skilled Workers, Professionals, and Other Workers
